  1. Baby Sling: This is a wonderful tool for new mothers and experienced mothers alike. This will free up your hands and allow you to keep your baby close, but still do your daily activities. They are also great when moms of more then one need an extra hand to walk their toddlers across the street, push them in a swing, or manage everyone in the grocery store!
  2. Contoured changing pads. You will need one for your baby’s room as well as your downstairs. Don’t tire yourself out running up and down for diaper changes. Don’t forget about the covers as well. You can buy nice fitted covers, or just cover the pad with a towel!
  3. Baby swing with mobile. Babies love the motion of a swing, and you will need a safe place to put them when you are cooking dinner. Go with the ones with bright colors. The pretty natural colored ones may match the room, but the toys won’t be as stimulating to them.
  4. Bouncer seat. This is something you can take with you to Grammas or friends houses. Get a fun bright one with stimulating toys that are also removable.
  5. Universal car seat carrier stroller. This is an EXTREMELY light weight stroller frame that allows you to snap an infant carrier into it. Much more manageable then the travel systems and better for those with a smaller car or trunk!
  6. Safety items. Outlet plug covers, toilet latches, drawer and cupboard locks, etc. Do this now, before something happens.
  7. Receiving blankets. You will be amazed as to how well a swaddle will calm a baby and send them off to sleep.
  8. Diaper Genie. If your not cloth diapering, a diaper genie is a great diaper pail. No more stinky smelling rooms.
  9. Crib mirror. Babies love to look at themselves!
  10. Infant carrier toys. Hang these toys on any infant carrier and they will bat at them, stare at them, and laugh at them.
